Of course, I join you in commiserating the absence of visible women at that level of the entertainment business. Unfortunately, it's encumbent, largely, on the women who are operating in those circles to bring along more of us into the big leagues, and they don't seem willing to extend as many of those opportunities as we need in order for the balance of power to change. It's too bad women(and minorities) are burdened with the responsibility to look out for more than just themselves, but it's the reality. And it sure doesn't help when one of the few Oscar-nominated female writers uses their good fortune as an opportunity for junior high school sour grapes flinging. Boo on Annie Proulx!
